THE STORYHow Miss Marie came to be
Miss Marie is our second boat. Our first love was La Videlle, a Felci-71’ , classic and beautiful sailing yacht, and we sailed her for three wonderful years. When we started looking for what came next, we chose the First 53 because it does two things well: it's luxuriously comfortable and spacious, and secondly it performs. It is well designed and buying it brand new, we were able to equip it with every available option and state-of-the-art feature we could. We wanted comfort for us and our guests and we wanted great sailing for all.
MEET THE CAPTAINMatteo Liberotti
Matteo learned to sail in the waters of Sardinia, and after a 25-year professional career, has returned there with a boat of his own. Along the way he's logged over 150,000 nautical miles — from Turkey across the Mediterranean, numerous Atlantic crossings, years in the Caribbean from Los Roques to the Bahamas, and various seasons up the North American Atlantic coast through Maine and into Canada. That career culminated in 12 years as captain of a private 96' Southern Wind sailing yacht, and he brings that experience to every cruise aboard Miss Marie — close attention to his guests' safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
